Manipur registered one more COVID19 positive case on Thursday taking the state’s total to three.
The news has been reported by AIR News Imphal.
“One positive case of #COVID19 found in Manipur this evening,” said the news report on Thursday.
AIR News Imphal quoted the director of Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences Imphal, Prof Imphal Prof Th Bhimo as saying that the COVID19 positive patient is a 33-year-old man from Imphal East who returned from Mumbai.
The man returned to the state by road on Wednesday and his sample was found to be positive for COVID19.
Earlier, Manipur registered two COVID19 positive cases, but of the patients were discharged from two government hospitals in Imphal after their recovery.
With the new case, Manipur currently has only one active COVID19 case.
While one of the COVID19 patients was discharged on April 12, the other patient was discharged on April 21.
After their release from the hospitals, the state was declared a Corona-free state.
In order to contain the spread of the deadly virus, the state authority continues to take up various measures across Manipur, particularly at the important entry points and porous international border.
