Assam Police have pulled up their sleeves after 15 people in Kamrup (Metro) district tested COVID-19 positive on Wednesday.
ADGP (Law and Order) G P Singh has appealed to people of containment zones not to travel outside.
Singh took to Twitter to make this appeal.
In his official Twitter handle, Singh wrote:
‘Earnestly request and advise people in containment zones not to seek Inter-State travel passes. Please don’t endanger 3.3 Crore people of Assam by travelling from containment zone to Assam. We are not allowing people to come out of containment zones even within Assam.’
He requested all who are residing in containment zones not to seek inter-state travel passes.
He further said that people residing in the containment zones of the State will not be allowed to move out.
Notably, Assam on Wednesday registered 15 more COVID19 positive cases taking the state total to 79.
State health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while confirming this also informed that all the positive cases are related to the patient Mungru Sahani, who tested positive in the Fancy Bazar area of the city.
