On the occasion of International Nurses Day, Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad felicitated the representative of nursing fraternity of STNM Hospital by offering token of gratitude at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.

A team of four senior nurses led by STNM hospital nursing superintendent, Rajani Barfungpa were present on the occasion.

The team apprised the Governor on the special preparatory exercises and activities such as training and other drills for COVID-19 dedicated hospital established at STNM by the government and mentioned that sufficient nursing staff have been deployed and kept as standby to cope with any eventuality.

The Governor expressed his pleasure on the level of preparedness and exhorted the nursing fraternity to remain dedicated and committed as frontline warriors at this testing time of COVID-19 crisis.

He also acknowledged the selfless service and compassion with which the nursing fraternity discharge their duty as backbone of the health care service and conveyed his greetings and best wishes on the special occasion of International Nurses Day 2020.
