Assam has registered two more COVID19 positive cases on Monday taking the state total to 64.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said the new COVID19 positive cases have been detected in Guwahati.
Sarma said while one of the infected persons originally hails from Morigaon district, the other is a resident of the city.
Health minister Sarma tweeted: “Alert ~ 2 persons are tested #COVID19 + in Guwahati. One originally hails from Morigaon, while other is from Guwahati itself.”
With the new cases reported on Monday, the total number of active COVID19 cases in Assam now stands at 29.

Earlier, a total of 34 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their recovery.
The deadly disease has claimed two persons in Assam so far.
As per the Union home ministry website, India has recorded a total of 67,152 COVID19 positive cases so far with 2,206 death.
There are currently 44,029 active COVID19 cases while 20,916 patients have been discharged from hospitals after their recovery and one patient has been migrated.
Globally, COVID19 has affected so far 4.12 million people with 2.83 lakh deaths.
