Assam State AIDS Control Society (ASACS) and Assam State Blood Transfusion Council (ASBTC) organized a voluntary blood donation camp at the premises of the office of the Commissioner of Taxes (Kar Bhavan), Ganeshguri in Guwahati on Saturday.

“In order to accelerate voluntary blood donation in the State, this noble step has been taken by Assam State Blood Transfusion Council and I am thankful to Anurag Goel, director of ASBTC and commissioner of taxes, for taking up this initiative and also to the officials and staff of commissionerate office for coming forward to donate blood which will be extremely helpful to the needy patients in the hospitals,” he added.
The minister further said such drives will continue throughout the State as five numbers of mobile blood collection vans are already placed at district hospitals across the State and another five will soon be placed at various districts.
Altogether 55 donors were screened at the camp and out of them 35 donors donated blood in the blood mobile bus stationed near the office.
