Tension prevailed in Sabroom in Tripura along the India-Bangladesh border on Friday evening when a mentally challenged Bangladeshi man tried to enter India.
Following the incident, the presence of Border Security (BSF) and Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) increased in the area.
The BSF alleged that the BGB had forced the man towards the Indian side and letting him cross the river Feni, which separates the two nations.
As BSF objected to it and took guard, several BGB men also took position and a war-like situation escalated for a brief period.
Later, a flag meeting was held between the BSF and the BGB in the evening.
On the continuous denial of the BGB to take back the mentally challenged man, the BSF finally brought him to its border out-post (BOP) ad provided food and shelter.
