Infosys co-founder Narayan Murthy, sharing his views about the lockdown, said that Indians will have to work 60 hours a week to revive the Indian economy.

“We should take a pledge that we will work ten hours a day, six days a week – as against 40 hours a week – for the next 2-3 years so that we can fast-track and grow the economy much faster,” he said in an interview to ET Now.

Murthy also suggested that the government should appoint a committee of well-respected and accomplished people to advise them on how to remove hassles for these businesses.

He said by doing so the country can bounce back in a much stronger way.

Murthy’s suggestions, however, did not go down well with netizens and several took to their social media and lashed out on him.

People said that they have been doing that even before the lockdown and that Murthy need not remind people what they needed to do.
