A Sikkimese woman undergoing treatment in New Delhi has been tested positive for COVID-19.

The 36-years-old woman from Sikkim is a chronic kidney patient and is on dialysis in a hospital in New Delhi.

She is staying at DKK Bhawan, New Delhi while undergoing treatment.

Speaking to media in Gangtok on Wednesday, principal director-cum-secretary of Health Department, Dr P T Bhutia has officially confirmed that a Sikkimese woman undergoing treatment at a hospital in New Delhi has been tested positive.

He informed that she was undergoing treatment since some months in New Delhi.

He added that the woman has been hospitalized in a hospital and her attendees have been kept in the facility quarantine under Delhi government.

The secretary mentioned that people living in DKK Bhawan have also been properly quarantined.
