The fencing work that was started along the along the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur’s Churachandpur district to check movement of people in the wake of the coronavirus has been completed.
The fence was erected at Pakmual area under Singngat subdivision in the hill district, the source said.
One company of the India Reserve Battalion (IRB) and police personnel from Behiang Police Station are patrolling the villages to check cross-border movement from Myanmar, said an official.
The fencing work started a few days back.
Manipur has so far reported two COVID-19 cases and one of them has recovered.
India shares a 1,624-km-long border with Myanmar.
