The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Wednesday released a list of 176 government laboratories, 78 private laboratories and three collection sites for COVID-19 testing.
As per the list, the five government laboratories in Assam for COVID-19 testing include Gauhati Medical College, Regional Medical Research Center, Jorhat Medical College, Silchar Medical College and Fakkhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College.
Manipur has two government labs for coronavirus testing which include Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences and Regional Institute of Medical Sciences.
The government labs of Mizoram and Meghalaya that have been included in the list include North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences and Zoram Medical College.
Agartala’s Government Medical College is the only government lab of Tripura that has been mentioned in the list.
Out of the three collection sites listed by ICMR, two are from the northeast- Arunachal Pradesh’s Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences and Sikkim’s Sir Thutob Namgyal Memorial
However, no private labs of the northeast have been included in the ICMR list.
