Since establishment of the Fast Track Court in Manipur, a total of 11 persons have been convicted in cases of crimes against women.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, who is also holding the Home portfolio, said this on the floor of the ongoing Budget Session of the Manipur State Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh tweeted, “Fast Track Court has been established to check crime against women, 11 persons convicted since establishment.”
Biren also tweeted, “Department of Home is the backbone of the State”
Stating that the relationship between the police and the public is very important, the Manipur CM in his Twitter handle, further stated, “Relationship between the police and public is of utmost importance.”
Manipur CM Biren also clarified on the floor of the State Assembly on Tuesday that the BJP-led Manipur government started a war against drugs, vehicle theft and crimes against women after coming to power and the fight would continue.
He tweeted, “The new BJP led Government in the State is on a war against drugs, vehicle theft, mob justice and crime against women”
On Monday, Chief Minister Biren announced that an air dispensary would start functioning soon in the State.
The Central government has chalked out a plan to introduce a helicopter-based Dispensary/OPD service in the remote areas where no doctor or medical facility is available and patients fail to avail any medical care.
Biren on Monday said that his government was implementing ‘human-oriented schemes’ to bring benefits to the poor section of the people.
He also said that new government was committed to maintaining ‘maximum transparency’ toward bringing inclusive development in Manipur.
