In a first of its kind incident in India, leading from the front and setting an example for others, the Chief Minister of a state made a contribution at the CM Relief Fund of his own state.
Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday donated a sum of Rs 30 lakh to CM Relief’s Fund to battle the coronavirus crisis.
Khandu donated the sum from his own personal savings.
CM’s donating at PM Relief Fund is known, but the chief minister of a state donating at the CMRFof his own state was never heard of.
In fact, it has been observed that the CMs make an appeal to others to donate openheartedly at the CMRF.
Pema Khandu, however, has shown the way by setting an example and donating for the cause.
He handed over the cheque to state chief secretary.
In a tweet, Khandu wrote, “Made a contribution of Rs30 lakh from my personal savings for Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to fight #coronavirus. Handed over the cheque to Arunachal Chief Secretary today. The battle against #COVID19 virus must be fought collectively as well at an individual level.”
