Amidst fight against COVID19 pandemic, various organisations, NGOs, churches, individuals and political leaders have come forward to support the needy and others who are affected by the lockdown in various parts of Nagaland.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown from March 24 midnight as a preventive measure to contain the spread of COVID19.

In Dimapur, besides the migrant workers, poor and the needy people, many people affected by the lockdown have been housed in different locations at the initiative of the district administration and police.
Forty-four people, mostly students comprising 18 girls and 24 boys, who came from Kerela, Maharashtra, and Goa, are presently quarantined at Youth Hostel in Netaji Railway Colony here.
The Jain Samaj Dimapur provides lunch, water and fruits to these students daily while the Bihari Samaj Dimapur takes care of their other requirements, including rations and hygienic aids, as and when required.

The two organisations said they would provide the services till April 24.
The warden of the hostel, B. Awala Walking, the Lotha church Chumukedima provided hygienic aids and surf, the Konyak Students Union donated snacks and water to the quarantined people.
The Dimapur district administration and police initiated a move to accommodate the beggars, the homeless, poor and needy and the daily wagers at Dimapur District Sports Stadium on Tuesday to keep them away from unnecessary loitering in the streets.
The initiative has also been taken to enable various organisations to carry out the feeding programmes in a more hygienic manner.
Different social organisations and NGOs continue to feed these people in turns.
The Swami Vivekananda Welfare Foundation also committed to feeding the needy people throughout the lockdown period.
Considering the importance of social distancing, the organization divided its members into three groups comprising five members each for grocery arrangement, cooking and distribution and execution of works.
It also plans to take a survey and demarcate areas of the town where people are not getting food, and provide ration as per their requirements.
Various organisations and NGOs, including Muslin community, Bengali Samaj, Marwari Samaj, Bengali Students Youth Organisation, Bhojpuri Samaj, Durgabari Committee, Rotary Club of Dimapur, Lions Club of Dimapur and many others are helping the needy and the homeless, including those under quarantine.
