Assam heartthrob Zubeen Garg has contributed Rs one lakh to the chief minister’s relief fund to fight the COVID-19 epidemic.
Zubeen, who presently in Mumbai undergoing treatment, has made this announcement on Sunday.
He also said, he will be contributing the amount to the relief fund on Monday.
In the message sent from Mumbai, Zubeen also urged the people of the State to abide by the regulations set by the government for the lockdown period.
He also asked all the citizens to cooperate in this time of crisis to fight the deadly pandemic.
Actor Jatin Bora has also contributed Rs one lakh for the fight against coronavirus outbreak.
Assam Government has endeavoured to open five 300-bedded hospitals to treat patients infected with coronavirus.

The hospitals are expected to be operational within next two months.
Among these, four hospitals will be constructed with the amount collected through contributions and donations.
Several politicians cutting across party-line, entrepreneurs, government employees and others have already started contributing for the purpose.

Notably, Assam has not registered any positive cases of coronavirus.
Only two north-eastern states – Manipur and Mizoram – have registered one case each.
However, sources from both the states have updated that their patients are recuperating.
Meanwhile, the numbers of coronavirus cases are steadily rising across the country with figures touching 1,024.
India has recorded 27 deaths till Monday morning.
