Different local public organizations and teachers’ body of Assam’s Mangaldai have come forward to create public awareness about the preventive measures against COVID-19.

The Mangaldai College Teachers Unit in collaboration with District Health Society and IQAC, Mangaldai College, Darrang district carried out a day long awareness programme in the nearby villages like Upahupara, Konwarpara, Industrial Area and Banglagarh tea Estate on Tuesday.

Street meeting among the people were organized and generated awareness on spreading of the dreaded virus.

Office bearers and members of the teachers’ body including Dimbeswar Baruah, Dibyajyoti Nath and Kamala Kanta Borah advised the small gathering to take necessary precautionary measures like frequent hand washing, keeping away from affected people and to take sufficient lukewarm water with citrus foods like lemon, elephant apple etc in the diet among others.

They also advised to take raw turmeric, ginger and garlic to develop more immunity of the body.

At the same time they appealed to people to remain vigilant but not to panic.

Precautionary leaflets against the virus have been distributed by the members of local socio-cultural organizations like Jayanta Hazarika Smriti Raksha Samiti, Mangaldai and Suhrid Sangha in several villages like Daksaki, Saikiapara, Menapara etc near Mangaldai as informed by Tutu Hazarika on behalf of the organizers.
