Bhutan is known for its pristine beauty and every year hundreds and thousands of tourists from across the world visit this tiny Himalayan state and spend time amid nature and culture.

Recently, the Railway Board carried out a survey to seek the possibility of establishing Mujnai-Nyoenpaling line.

Once established, then this will provide a cross-border rail link between India and Bhutan.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal was recently in Bhutan heading a business delegation at the Bhutan-India Start-up Summit 2020.

An Indian Railways team will visit Bhutan and hold discussions with the Bhutan Mining Corporation on finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for export of railway ballast from Bhutan to India.

Both nations also talked about the designation and notification of new transit customs railway stations at Pandu, Jogighopa and Agartala.

The two sides also discussed to make customs station at Nagarkatta as a permanent customs station.
