The Dr Justice Aftab H Saikia Commission constituted to inquire into the alleged irregularities as regards continuation of 21 numbers of unapproved courses in Gauhati University (GU) shall commence public hearing from March 2, 2020.
Notably, the CAG report had recently raised the issue that the Gauhati University- Institute of Distance and Open Learning (GUIDOL) has been running unappoved coruces.
The inquiry commission will accept written statements with affidavit from various organization(s), association(s), individual(s) etc on day to day basis for four days in a week.

The hearing will be from Monday to Thursday excluding notified holidays of Gauhati University.
The time of hearing has been notified in between 10:30 am to 01:15 pm and again from 2 pm to 4.15 pm at the Commission’s office, Room No A-001, GU Administrative Building.
The organization(s), individual(s) who had already filed written statements along with any other organization(s) or individual(s) interested with terms and references/issue raised before the commission may also appear before the commission for making statements, giving evidences along with relevant documents, papers, records etc.
Party/Parties may also be represented by their engaged lawyers, stated a press release issued on Thursday.
