Dolamara police in Karbi Anglong district nabbed two kidnappers from Dadhara village under Dolamara police station.

The chief public relations officer of Assam Police informed that based on specific information on Saturday, a team of Dolamara police station carried out an operation.

During the operation, the police team was able to apprehend two kidnappers from Dadhara village under Dolamara police station.

The kidnappers have been identified as Bidya Sing Terang and Lison Terang.

Bidya is the son of Langtuk Terang, resident of Langtuk Terang under Dolamara in Karbi Anglong district.

Lison is the son of Sonok Sing Terang, resident of Sarsing Terang Gaon under the Dolamara police station in Karbi Anglong district.

They were allegedly involved in the kidnapping of one Md. Ikramul Haque.

The Assam Police CPRO also informed that during the interrogation, the apprehended kidnappers led the police team to the recovery of one country-made gun (Khaja Bonduk).

Along with the gun, ammunition and gunpowder were also recovered in the jungle of Langhunjar Hill under Dolamara PS.

The operation was carried out in connection with a case lodged in Dolamara PS (Case No. 4/19) under section 364 of the Indian penal Code (IPC) regarding the kidnapping of one Md. Ikramul Haque.

Haque is the son of Abdul Kadir, a resident of Daitalbari under Lahorighat police station in Assam’s Morigaon district.

Haque was kidnapped on December 8, 2019, from a labour camp of a bridge construction site located at Malashi Nihanghat under Dolamara PS.

On December 16, 2019, Md. Ikramul Haque was rescued safely from the Jagdamba tea estate area under Jakhalabandha PS.
