The Nonai Serfang Block Committee of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) of Udalguri has brought disgrace to the image of the BPF party and also Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary by erroneously publishing the Gregorian calendar for the year 2018.
The February month in the calendar for 2018, published by the Nonai Serfang Block Committee of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) along with the picture of BTC chief Mohilary, who is also the president of the BPF, contains not only 28 days or 29 days, it contains fairy and fictional dates – February 30 and February 31.
According to the Gregorian calendar, the February month in 2018 has 28 days.
But publishing the calendar with three sarcastic dates – February 29, 30 and 31 – the Nonai Serfang Block Committee of the BPF has drawn wide criticisms from various quarters on the social media.
The people of the area are also leaving no stone unturned to mock the BPF party for the major error.
The Northeast Now reached the president of the Nonai Serfang Block Committee, Ranjit Deka, who clarified that a total of 5000 copies of the calendar were ordered for printing.
“Out of the total 5000 copies of the calendar, 2000 copies were initially distributed,” said Deka, adding, “But immediately after noticing the error, we have stopped its circulation.”
Deka has further stated that the Nonai Serfang Block Committee of the BPF would soon publish a clarification in the print media seeking unconditional apology for the inadvertent error.
