Protests continued for the third consecutive day in eastern Assam’s Jorhat on Wednesday against CAB.
People come out in large numbers across the district from morning till late in the evening by shouting slogans against the Bill.
Normal life was completely paralyzed with shops downing shutters, educational institutes remaining closed.
Banks, post offices and other business establishments also remaining closed.

Vehicles too were off the roads.
The district administration has already imposed restrictions Section 144 CrPC and additional restrictions under Section188 IPC.
However, tyres were burnt on the streets and roads and in the National Highway-37 at many places, mostly within a gap of 200 to 500 metres distances.

The protesters took protest rallies and came out from different localities and outskirts by holding banners and posters opposing CAB and shouting slogans against the BJP-led governments at the Centre and State.
Slogans against Rajya Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Jorhat Lok Sabha MP, Topon Kumar Gogoi, Speaker of State Legislative Assembly and Jorhat MLA Hitendra Nath Goswami, chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal, state health and family welfare minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, union home minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi rent the air.
