To disperse the anti CAB protesters, protesting in front of the Assam Secretariat in Guwahati, police on Wednesday fired rubber bullets and tear gas injuring several persons.
Two journalists- one camera person and a reporter of a local satellite channel- were also injured in the firing.
The firing dispersed the protesters and they ran in every direction, only to come back after the firing stopped.
Angry protesters even set ablaze to the police point at Last Gate area of the city.
Police also resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the protesters.
Angry protesters also damaged one fire brigade vehicle which was used to water cannon the protesters.
