Assam MP Gaurav Gogoi on Saturday said there is a necessity of teaching young boys about positive masculinity following the death of the girl who was set ablaze in Unnao recently by the men accused of raping her last year.
The Kaliabor Lok Sabha member also said young men should be taught about the meaning of real strength and how they can serve the society in a good way.
Gogoi tweeted:
“There is a movement needed in India to teach young boys about positive masculinity. To help young men learn about what real strength means.”
“To understand how we can be better sons, partners and parents. Boys need to see better role models and champions,” he further added.

The 23-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped in December last year, was set ablaze on Thursday while she was on her way to attend a hearing regarding her rape case.
After having suffered serious burns, the girl had to be airlifted for treatment to New Delhi but unfortunately she died on Saturday.
Meanwhile, her dead body had reached her home in Unnao on Sunday.
However, her family demanded that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visits them and has refused to cremate the body until then.
Moreover, her family along with the rest of the nation has been widely protesting to ensure that she gets justice soon.
