In yet another case of moral policing, a woman along with her male friend was stripped and beaten up at Krishnai in lower Assam’s Goalpara district by three men.

He is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Goalpara.

The Goalpara police on Tuesday arrested three youths for their alleged involvement in the incident.

They have been identified as Amiyo Rabha, Apurba Rabha and Samiron Rabha.

“We have arrested them based on an FIR lodged on Monday evening with the Krishnai police station by the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of North Garo Hills, Meghalaya on behalf of the victim girl,” Goalpara additional superintendent of police (ASP) Amitava Basumatary said.

The youths allegedly harassed them on December 1 when they found the couple in a jungle along Meghalaya border.
