Arunachal Pradesh sports and youth affairs minister Mama Natung on Sunday inaugurated a branch of St. Xavier’s School at Bana near Seppa.

The minister was accompanied by Rev Fr Richard Jarain, DDSE Kata Rangmo, Bana EAC Pooza Sonam Natung, WRD executive engineer Suren Natung and a host of HoDs and other government officials.

Terming the day as a historic one, Natung called upon all the stakeholders to shoulder responsibilities for the betterment of education sector and requested them to go the extra mile for the socio-cultural and educational development of the district.

Further urging the parents to give importance to the better education of their children, the minister reiterated that the education is the most important social sector on which the development of a society depends.

“Education is the basic building block of foundation for any society to become a developed one,” he said.

“Until and unless this sector is developed, the mentality of the people will not develop and hence, the society will not develop,” he added.

Asserting that education plays a vital role in making a nation strong, Natung urged all parents to give equal importance to every form of sporting and other extra co-curricular activities, besides education, so as to ensure the overall development of a child.

The minister also exhorted the teaching fraternity to discover and harness the potentials of their students in order to mould them positively.

He also urged them to impart good and quality education, which is relevant to today’s changing environment.

Highlighting that the state government has been according top priority to education, he apprised the people that the present state government under chief minister Pema Khandu is undertaking every possible initiative to bring about a holistic development in the education sector.

He requested the people to extend their cooperation.

The minister later inspected the school and assured to provide all possible assistance for quality education.
