Four persons were killed while 11 others injured in a road mishap in Hailakandi district of Assam on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Raldo Thangi, Sabul Hussain Laskar, Abdul Monnaf Laskar and Habib Ali Laskar.

Hailakandi superintendent of police Pabindra Kumar Nath informed that a TATA Sumo carrying 15 passengers lost control and plunged into a deep gorge near Baicherra BoP of Assam on Monday morning.

The accident took place at Mayapur under Ramnathpur Police Station near AssamMizoram inter-state border.

The ill-fated vehicle was travelling towards Gharmura from Bhairabi in Mizoram.

Police rushed to the accident spot immediately and rescued the injured persons with the help of the locals and admitted them to a nearby hospital.

Of the 11 injured, three have been admitted at the Silchar Medical College and Hospital and four at SK Roy Civil Hospital.
