One may not be able to visit Kolkata during the Durga puja.
But that cannot be the reason to keep him or her away from the gastronomic delight the Bengal and Bengalis have to offer during the annual festival.
With the spirit of Durga Puja already engulfing one and all, the Vivanta by Taj at Guwahati has also lined up a Puja special lip smacking menu titled “An Essence of Bengali Flavours” at the Seven Restaurant of the hotel.
The special menu was started at the restaurant from Friday and will continue till next Friday (October 11).
“The effort is basically to treat the guests with the authentic Bengali flavours.
“We have lined up them from the favourite Mangeher Chop to Chingrir chop to Dimer Devil in starter section while the main course offers from celebrated Bengali cuisine Chingri malai curry to Macher paturi to Sorse ilish to Pabda macher jhol and may more which is sure to tickle anyone’s taste buds,” said a spokesman of the hotel.
“Kosha Mangsho, Shukto Dholar Dalna, Narkol Diye Cholar Dal are some of the other delicacies which are available as part of the Puja special menu,” she said.
“In the desert section, there are items like Rodsogolla, Rasmalai, Gobinda Bhog Chaler Payesh, Misti Doi and the famous Nolen gurer ice cream,” she added.
“We are getting good response from the people in Guwahati since starting of the Puja special menu,” she added.
