Two Manipur students- Sony Nongmaithem and Wahengbam Devanand- have been selected to witness the landing of Chandrayaan-2 live.
The duo would watch the landing at Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) headquarters in Bangalore on September 7.

Sony is a Class X student of Kendriya Vidyalaya Loktak and Wahengbam is a Class IX student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Yaralpat.
Congratulating the two students, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh tweeted, “Congratulations to Sony Nongmaithem (Class X of Kendra Vidyalaya, Loktak) and Wahengbam Devanand (Class IX of JNV, Yaralpat) on their selection from the State to watch the historic landing of #Chandrayan2 on the moon live along with Hon’ble PM @narendramodiji on Sep 7, 2019.”

They have been selected to witness the historic moment by ISRO through the Chandrayaan 2 quiz competition on space technology.
They will be joined by four more students from the Northeast to watch the Chandrayaan-2 landing on the moon.

These students are Tejaswini Gajurel from Assam, Ankur Roy from Tripura, Kumar Lige Basar from Arunachal Pradesh and Ribait Phawa from Meghalaya.
