Creating an opportunity for Meghalaya’s IAS aspirants, State Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Thursday launched Chief Minister’s Civil Services Fellows.

The scholarship worth Rs 1 crore will be offered to 100 youths, who are deserving and talented IAS aspirants of Meghalaya, to undergo free of cost coaching from ALS IAS.

ALS IAS, which is India’s Largest IAS Coaching Network, has more than 75 centres across India including 30 in Northeast along with 2837 selections in UPSC till date including 154 selections last year.

ALS has also been honoured with similar sponsorship for IAS training from the governments of Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Mizoram and Manipur in the past.

The national Sales Head of ALS, Prateek Bhattacharya, also announced scholarship worth Rs 1 crore for 265 aspirants under ALS CSR Initiative for the youth of Meghalaya.

Together this, the announcement has created an opportunity for 365 IAS aspirants of Meghalaya to avail of scholarship sponsored by the government of Meghalaya and ALS.

The Meghalaya Chief Minister also mentioned that the selection of 100 students sponsored under the Chief Minister’s Civil Services Fellows will be based on Meghalaya Reservation Roster list to give equal opportunity to students from Khasi, Jaintia and Garo Hills.

“The Scholarship Exam will be conducted on September 15, 2019 in all district headquarters of Meghalaya under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner of each district,” informed Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Meghalaya.

Application forms will be made available from September 4 in all Deputy Commissioners’ offices with last date of form submission being September 12.

“Results of the exam will be generated on 22nd September and Batches will commence from 30th September,” the CMO stated.

Students selected from Khasi and Jaintia Hills shall undergo their IAS training at ALS IAS Shillong.

The students selected from Garo Hills shall undergo training at ALS IAS Tura through cutting-edge VSAT Technology where live transmission of classes, conducted in ALS Delhi campus, would be made available.
