The Kamrup (M) chief judicial magistrate (CJM)’s court here on Thursday deferred to August 3 (Saturday) the sentencing of the three convicted in Shweta Agarwal murder case.
The CJM’s court on Tuesday had convicted Govind Singhal, who was Shweta’s boyfriend, his mother Kamla Devi and his sister Bhawani under Sections 302 and 201 of the IPC in connection with the murder of a meritorious college student, Shweta Agarwal, in the city on December 4, 2017.
The lower court postponed the sentencing of the three convicted due to some ‘unavoidable circumstances’.
Shweta was found murdered at the rented house of the Singhals at city’s Shantipur area.
Following investigation, the police had revealed that the girl was murdered by her boyfriend Govind.
