SHILLONG: Security measures at the Meghalaya high court in Shillong have been significantly intensified after the court received a bomb threat via email on Tuesday (June 18), marking the second such incident this year.

Earlier, authorities responded to an email threat, similar to a similar incident on January 06, where another bomb threat targeted the Meghalaya high court premises.

A senior Meghalaya police official confirmed the heightened security, stating, “In response to the email threat received by the court authorities, security measures have been enhanced at the high court.”

Security drills were conducted, involving deployment of bomb squads and trained dogs to ensure the safety of the Meghalaya high court premises.

Meanwhile, an investigation into the origin and credibility of the threat has been launched by the Meghalaya police.
