Assam’s Debajit Changmai, became the second Assamese to be invited as a voting member of Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (OSCAR) this year.

Debajit Changmai  is a senior Re recording mixer currently working at FutureWorks. He hails from Sibsagar.

Moving out from Sivasagar to establish himself in Mumbai has been a long journey that seen a lot of ups and downs. But slowly he has been able to establish himself. He is a Jyoti Chitraban alumnus and was a pass out from the first batch in the sound mixing course.

He was involved in numerous big name projects in Bollywood like Secret Superstar, Ishqiya, Kaminey, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Haider, Dangal, Barfi.

He bagged the National Award in the year 2010 for re-recording the sound of the film Ishqiya.

Amrit  Prtitam who was the first Assamese to be nominated as a voting member congratulated Debajit on Facebook for this achievement.

Utpal Borpujari also congratulated him on Facebook.
